Flaming Gorge

We had a three day long date! We went to Flaming Gorge with Shaun's cousin, Randy, and his new wife, Brittany. We stayed in a Cabin that Shaun's Grandpa built. To put it lightly, It was fun! This was the first time I have ever spent a night away from Lincoln! I thought it would be torture to be away and worry about him. It wasn't though! My mom did a great job babysitting him. (I should know I called about three times a day to hear him say, "Hi, Mom!") Taking this much time to be together and enjoy nature and to have no other care in the world was amazing. We fell in love. Well, more in love I guess. We had time to talk and laugh and kiss. I think this three day long date was like a triple dose of date night. It was totally worth it.

This is Shaun speaking. This was a really special date for me because I got to take Emily to a place that is really close to my heart. I have so many memories here from all ages of my life. It was really fun to hear Emily say, "did you ever think when you were a little kid that you would have your wife with you in this cabin?" She would ask that in a lot of different places which really made me ponder those times of my life. I think it is a good date idea to go to a place that is special to one of you and share it with your best friend. I really enjoyed being with just Emily in such a special place!

We took an educational tour of the Flaming Gorge Dam.
We also hit golf balls off the deck into a nearby pond. I thought that was a highlight of the trip as well.

Craft and Decorate

Obviously this was my turn to pick the date. Shaun was so cool about it and we had lots of fun creating a display for our living room wall.

The squares are really just cardboard from our moving boxes that we recently unpacked. We didn't need much fabric at all. This date wasn't free but it was really cheap!

Shaun has a good eye for building things and I learned tonight that he is good at decorating too. I shall probably never hang something on the wall again with out asking for his expert leveling/eyeballing skills. We arranged the squares over and over again and sat on the couch to see if we liked it. Working on a project, especially if it is a favorite hobby for your or your spouse is a fun date night!

We both love spending time together in the living room. We're pretty proud of our art!
We forgot to take any pictures of me on the date, too! Rookie mistake! ;)
